Literature Text

Listen to the wind as it howls down the street,
blowing away everything that it meets,
See the flash of lightning as it lights up the night,
giving so many such a terrible fright,
Watch the crash of the waves breaking cliffs as they go,
Nature is more powerful than you'll ever know,
So why with her do we continue to fight,
Taking and destroying like it was our right,
all the wonderful gifts she lays at our feet,
preferring our toys that soon become obsolete,
She provides the world with new life each and every day,
yet we continue to treat her in a despicable way,
like a spoilt child who just can't get enough,
who has forgotten to treasure, cherish and love,
all the things to us that should matter the most,
The earth is our home, we have only one,
so if we destroy it there is nowhere to run
This poem was very much inspired by my dear friend Will :iconearthhart: He is someone I respect and admire as he is a lovely man who cares about things that really matter so I am very proud to be able to call him my friend :blowkiss:

Much love and 's to you Will!

The photograph does not belong to me, it is one I have borrowed from Will's gallery. I would have asked for permission in advance, but I wanted to surprise him! :giggle:
